                                     THE HE C.A.R.E.S. MINISTRY

HE (meaning CHRISTComforts, Accepts, Replenishes, Encourages, & Saves  through His love and grace.  Calvary Baptist Church desires to follow in Christ's footsteps... to comfort those around us who need comforting; to meet people where they are; to feed them spiritually and physically; encourage them to grow closer to God; and to show  the unsaved that they can have everlasting life through Jesus Christ.

MISSION STATEMENT:  The intent of this Calvary Baptist Church ministry is to reach out and attend to the needs of our church family and the communities around us, with true sincerity and  a servant heart.  To spiritually and physically lift up, in a Christ-like manner, the weak and hurting using bible scripture, prayer, sharing, and caring...   Christ cares, and at Calvary, we care too!  Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you. (1 Peter: 5:7 KJV)

GOALS:  Through the HE CARES ministry the objective is to meet the needs of those around us who are struggling and hurting using the service and ministry opportunities listed below:

1.  Calvary Food Share Pantry: This is only a stop gap measure for those who may be temporarily struggling financially and who may have an immediate need for food.  This is an ongoing opportunity for our church to also provide spiritual food by way of God's Word and prayer.

2.  HE CARES Food Share Boxes:  This is a Calvary Baptist Church based ministry that gets individual Christians brothers and sisters personally involved in a one-on-one mission field. The purpose is to seek out and provide  HE CARES FOOD SHARE BOXES  every month and especially during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Easter to those who are in dire need in our community.  This Christ-like exercise is an ongoing opportunity for our church family to see the joys and blessings of giving to those outside their immediate circle of family and friends. Also, it's an opportunity to show those who receive the food the LOVE of CHRIST and the love of His flock through their caring and sharing!

3.  Angel Food Ministry:  This is a food distribution outreach ministry started in Georgia and has been gaining momentum across the country.   Calvary Baptist Church has become part of this wide reaching ministry in an effort to provide quality food, at discounted prices, to anyone  in the immediate Uniontown Area who wishes to  participate.  This is a hand up, not a hand out!   This provides an ongoing  opportunity  for our church family and non-church family volunteers to reach out to those who need food, but also in need of prayer, Christ or a church home… to show them what Christ can do for them through His committed servants  love and care!

4.  feedFAYETTE:  This is a regional multi-church effort, that Calvary Baptist Church is involved with.  feedFayette pools financial resources, advertising, manpower, ministry tools, facilities and business connections to achieve a common goal to reach the masses in the name of Christ.  The intent of feedFayette  is to take the Angel Food Ministry to the next plateau in reaching the physical and spiritual needs of the people of Fayette County in the name of Jesus Christ.  This is a serious and committed group of Christ’s brothers and sisters willing to make a huge impact for Christ in the county

The HE C.A.R.E.S. Ministry   reaches out to those within the church family, but more importantly takes the love of Christ beyond the church doors.  It teaches the church family, individually and corporately, that they have a responsibility to give, reach out, serve and minister to others around them in the name of Christ. It also shows the joys and blessings that come with doing so.  Others outside the church see the love of Christ within his church family and shows them, that no matter who you are, Christ is always there, to comfort,  accept, replenish, encourage, & provide salvation... because HE CARES!
